Fr Z reads Latin Last Rites

Occasionally I get requests for recordings, often of unusual Latin prayers or chants. The latest one asked for a recording of the prayers of the Anointing of the Sick in Latin so that the listener would be familiar with the words and find them comforting in the event of receiving the Last Rites in Latin.

I wasn’t so keen to record the words intended for a priest. Being familiar with any Divine Office or even Mass prayers would probably get you a long way towards the stated goal. So I had a look for existing recordings.

Fr Zuhlsdorf made just such a recording back in 2019. Unfortunately there is no surviving link to the audio in the blog post.

I turned to the trusty Wayback Machine and found the blogpost. Unfortunately the audio link there also didn’t work, but fiddling around with urls finally yielded this:

I’m wondering if I should upload the mp3 here just to make sure it is preserved lest the Wayback Machine should fail.
